Goodwill Seeks Donations For Book Drive
Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is hosting a book drive for its BookWorks program, which promotes a love of reading among at-risk students to support their success in school.
Goodwill volunteers read donated books in preschool and primary classrooms across Central Florida, and each participating child receives a book to take home. Many of these children have never had a book to call their own.
The nonprofit is accepting new or gently used books suitable for ages 3 to 6. Donations can be made at any Goodwill store, Donation Xpress Center or Job Connection Center now through March 15. For a list of locations, visit www.goodwillcfl.org.
In addition, Goodwill is recruiting volunteers to sort donated books at its headquarters on South Orange Blossom Trail. Volunteers will be screened and must be 18 or older. More information is available at www.goodwillcfl.org/volunteer.
